Opened in Spring of 2024, Charlie’s is a New American restaurant that fuses old world charm with a modern menu of carefully hand selected items for lunch and dinner. With a seasonal curated menu by Chef Peter Crawford, Charlie’s offerings come to life inspired by memories of rustic, home style meals from days past.  Whether you’re dining at one of our outdoor tables, enjoying a drink at the bar or ordering your food to go, we invite you to relax and enjoy your experience at Charlies!  
With over 20 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry, Chef Peter Crawford introduces Charlies in downtown Darien, CT.  Born and raised in Darien, Chef Peter’s childhood memories are filled with moments in his grandmother’s kitchen, and her use of fresh produce and prime quality meat from the family cattle farm.  
In 2016, Chef Peter launched the Darien Butcher Shop, filling a void in the community looking for high quality beef, poultry and pork. A former New England Culinary Institute graduate, Chef Peter returns to pursue his culinary passion for fine food and a one of kind dining experience. Throughout his career, Chef Peter has had the opportunity to learn and work with culinary greats such as Charlie Palmer, Jean-Georges, Neil Gallagher, and Terrence Brennen.  He hopes to share his knowledge and appreciation of high-quality provisions, coupled with superior service.
